Chris Dovell and Riley Phillips continue their successful partnership into the 2024 season, however after 4 years with the team, including 2 championships, countless wins and many more podiums, Kristian Rose is stepping back to become the team’s reserve driver and mentor. Replacing Kristian will be Simon Rudd, who is a hugely experienced and successful driver across many other championships and who last year showed real pace with the AxiaMetrics/GRD Team in the Fun Cup championship. Simon brings a new major sponsor in GRD Lifts & Engineering. GRD will be joining Olympian Homes and the Spell Fund as one the team’s major sponsors for 2024. We welcome both to the team and look forward to defending our title with their help.
Our mechanic, chief engineer and aero wiz, James, remains despite the considerable press coverage during the off season about a big money offer from elsewhere. Chris commented, ‘We are thrilled to have kept James in the team and look forward to another successful season with him’.
The core of the remaining pit crew, Lia and Andy, remains the same ensuring consistency and attention to detail in the pits and behind the scenes in race strategy. We also welcome James ‘Monkey’ to the pit crew, who has worked closely with Simon for many years.
