After a brief foray in the British GT Championship in 2015, James Harrison will be making a return to racing this season, in the Fun Cup. Continuing a partnership with drivers Chris Webster and Michelle Hayward, this year will mark a debut to the championship for the team.

Harrison won the Ginetta Junior championship title in 2006, amongst a highly competitive field. In 2007, he competed in a half season of the Radical Enduro series where he recorded 6 wins from 8 races, finishing 3rd in the championship.

Harrison was also announced as works driver for Murtaya Sportscars, a Newquay based kit car manufacturer. This provided him with the chance to develop a very capable road car for circuit use. From 2010 onwards, he has been focussing on driver coaching and training.

Webster, has competed in various championships including Britcar, Ginetta GT5 & British GT.

In 2006, Ex-Formula Woman competitor, Hayward, was spotted and offered a drive in Clubmans Mallock. Sadly, she was never able to commit to the championship, due to a lack of time & finances.

However, in 2014 she made a fighting comeback & finished 2nd in the championship by 1 point, after losing the lead on the final chicane.

Team Manager, Paul Huggett said: “This is our first year competing in the Fun Cup. We are a bunch of guys & girls who want to put a smile back on our faces. Let’s be fair, just one look at these cars & how can you not smile, feel good & want to race the wheels off it”.

Fun Cup Championship Director, Paul Rose, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the team to the championship. The grids are hugely competitive & the track time is unsurpassed. When you combine this with the super friendly paddock, it will certainly give them something to smile about”.

The 2016 Fun Cup championship will consist of 7 UK races at 6 venues, plus the world famous Spa 25 hour non-championship round. The total amount of UK race time for 2016, is an unrivalled 28 hours. On top of this, exclusive testing & qualifying are included in the timetable. So, with super competitive, full grids & staggering amounts of track time for the cost, plus the friendliest paddock, Fun Cup always proves popular.

Each event is also filmed for Sky Sports’ Racemax programme & Motors TV, with several repeats.
