Team History

2020 and 2023 Fun Cup Champions.

Team GRD: 2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025 Fun Cup Champions.
Chris Dovell, Riley Phillips and Simon Rudd have continued to build one of the most consistent and
competitive teams in the championship. The team enter 2026 with a new title sponsor and a new name
transitioning from Team Olympian GRD to simply Team GRD.
Simon Rudd brought GRD with him when he joined the team 2 years ago and has quickly become an
integral part of the driver line up with his speed and precision. He has been a major factor in the team
securing back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025.
Riley Phillips maintains the anchor stints and his race pace and execution are, as always, instrumental in
ensuring we maximise every race and has directly led to the four championships we have.
Chris Dovell remains as team captain; his meticulous planning and tactics have kept the team in many
races where a podium has looked like a distant hope only for the strategy employed to work out in the
latter stages.
In the garage, the engineering team has only grown stronger. James, the team’s mechanic, chief
engineer and aero specialist, continues to be a cornerstone of the operation. Despite interest from
elsewhere, he has remained committed to GRD and has played a crucial role in maintaining the team’s
technical edge.
The pit crew has evolved into one of the most formidable units in the paddock. James “Monkey” has
become the bedrock of the crew, working seamlessly alongside James (Mechanic) to form what has
consistently been the fastest pit crew in the championship. Their precision, speed and reliability have
been instrumental in executing the winning race strategy when the pressure is on.
The continued presence of Lia and Andy ensures stability, attention to detail and strategic clarity behind
the scenes.
Together, the team will be aiming for a 4th championship in a row and a record breaking 5th title in
2026 although they realise that there will be many old foes and many new teams that will have other
ideas.
