JPR Motorsport/Credit Crunch Racing - Car No :1 |
Entered Next Round - Petrol |

Tim Wheeldon experienced many years of track days and corporate events with Palmer Sport, when in 1999 he was invited to test in the Formula Palmer Audi Series by Dr. Jonathan Palmer. Tim competed in the Formula Palmer Audi Series in 2000 and 2001, finishing 4th and 11th in the championship, respectively. After a few years away from Motorsport, he joined with Nigel Griffiths to create the Credit Crunch Racing team in the Fun Cup Series in 2008.
Nigel Griffiths had competed in many track days and corporate events with Palmer Sport, but was essentially a rookie when he and Tim formed Credit Crunch Racing.
Dominic Jackson had an initial taste of competitive motorsport back in 1997 when he competed in the Silverstone Saloon Car racing series, enjoying a couple of wins and several podiums. He started racing seriously again in 2007 competing in the Britcar endurance series and also some saloon car sprint racing, enjoying a couple of class podium successes. He has also competed twice in the Britcar 24 Hour race at Silverstone.
Ed Cole made the step from track days to racing in 2007 competing in all UK rounds of the Fun Cup that year. The final race of the season at Oulton Park resulted in a best finish of 5th and the award for best rental drive. In 2008, Spa was the highlight running in a three man team and finishing a pleasing 37th - the Spa track and 25 hour race being totally addictive.
Credit Crunch Racing was awarded the accolade of “Most Successful Team” of the 2009 season, winning six out of eight races in the petrol class, including class victory at the prestigious Spa 25 Hours race. As a result of the successes in 2009, the team will drive as car number 1 instead of its usual number 103, in the 2010 season.

Team Honeywell - Car No :2 |
Entered Next Round - TDI |

Neil Plimmer has various racing championships under his belt, from the 'Star of Mallory' FF1600 Championship and the Metro Turbo Challenge, to six years competing in the 'Star of the Midlands' FF1600 Championship, where he consistently finished second from 1999 to 2001. In 2002, he began competing in the Fun Cup Enduro, in what was the first year of the series.
In 1998, Geoff Fawcett raced Neil's spare FF1600 in the 'Star of the Midlands' Championship. After buying his own RF90 and running as team mate to Neil, he finished fourth in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
He, too, joined the Fun Cup in 2002, where the pair had one fourth and two second places. With their previously numbered car 98, in 2003, they achieved one third and three second places. They rounded off their 2004 season, with four second places and one third.
2005 was not a good year for Team Honeywell and podium positions eluded them with monotonous regularity.
However, 2006 proved to be the turning point for Team Honeywell, after the car was handed over to JPR Motorsport for preparation and set-up. Both Geoff and Neil now had a car that was both on the pace and reliable, which, coupled with a good team strategy, ultimately rewarded them with the number 1 on their car for 2007.
It was a similar story for the 2007 season and the pair were the most consistent team, having had a fantastic year again. Once more, they were the number 1 car for the 2008 season.
The end of the 2008 season, saw the pair forced to relinquish their number 1. However, they did finish the season with a bang, as the overall Fun cup winners of the of the twelve lap sprint around the world famous Nordschleife circuit.
They are, once again, looking forward to another season in 2010 and will be running with a TDI engine.

Beacon are a new team to the Fun Cup for 2010 with close links to Staffordshire University, as they provide work experience to students attending the Motorsport Technology course. The team is pleased to be working with three new drivers to Fun Cup.
Phil Harrison has previously raced Formula Ford and karts, and is now looking forward to trying his hand at Fun Cup. In addition to racing, he is a TVR track day, M5 and bike enthusiast.
Alan Brown's previous experience of motorsport is confined to racing karts in Asia. He generally won if the race took place during a typhoon, but in the dry - which was all too frequent - limited skill and excess weight compared to the locals presented some difficulty. He is looking forward immensely to the thrills and spills of the Fun Cup.
Adrian Duggleby has moved on from karts and track days, to several years successfully sprinting a TVR Griffith in the TVR Speed Championship. He’s now keen to progress from sprints over a couple of miles, to the full on endurance challenge of Fun Cup.

Steve, like many, began his racing career with karting. Later in life, he competed in the Radical Championship for two years, until he moved to race in the Fun Cup in 2002.
Having passed his ARDS at Oulton Park in February 2008, Stephen Johansen started his racing career in April 2008 at Mondello Park in Ireland. This was the first round of the funcup series in a JPR rental car. Having no previous racing experience, this was to be Stephen’s first year in motor sport, learning racing lines and race craft. For 2009, Stephen raced in a JPR rental car in the new TDI class, securing two second place podiums and several "Highest Placed JPR Rental Team" trophies, with Mark Hope and Dan Jones.
Stephen Johansen is the Managing Director of Indigo Technology Services (www.indigo-ts.co.uk),who install and maintain copper, fibre, wireless networks and design & implement data centres.
Mark Hope started circuit racing in 1990, racing mainly MG Sports in the Halfords MG Challenge. From 1999 to 2003, Mark raced in the FISC European Series, which took him to some of the top circuits in Europe including, Spa, Dijon, Zandvoort, Nurburgring and “The Green Hell”, better known as the Nordschlieffe.
In 2008, after coaching from ex British Touring Car driver Eugene O’Brien, Mark competed in three Fun Cup races. Two top ten finishes convinced him that the series was where he wanted to be. For the 2009 season, he raced with Team Norsound in car 101. A number of top six finishes and two visits to the podium were the season highlights.
Away from the circuits, he works in training and development for IPE Ltd, specialising in the areas of sales and service. Visit www.goinspire.co.uk for more details.

Landspeed Racing - Car No :222 |

The 222 car was new for 2007, along with the team - headed by series regular, Hampshire's Ted Reddick - helped and supported by a number of neighbours and friends from TVR and Alfa Romeo related circles.
A former racing cyclist (when a few stone lighter!), Ted spent four years racing Ferrari 355 Challenge cars - winning the 2004 Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge (following on from runner up in 2003), as well as the Ferrari Owners' Club Victor Ludorum points competition and the Driver of the Year trophy in the same season. Also a former multi sprint racing champion in a TVR (and winner of the TVRCC Scott Moncrieff trophy), Ted has raced GT cars in Bahrain and Shanghai, as well as TVR Tuscans, Alfa Romeos and the full UK Fun Cup series from 2005 to present. He has competed in the Spa 25 hour race since 2003, as well as the 2006 and 2007 Fun Cup world finals at Jarama, in Spain and Val de Vienne, in France. Ted is also a track driving instructor and used this experience to nurture two novice drivers into the 2005 and 2006 Fun Cup series.
Ted's first outing in a Fun Cup car was on his 40th birthday back in 2003 and unfortunately, he was hooked! He claims one of the most spectacular crashes in the Fun Cup - walking away without a scratch, following a mid air inversion at Jarama in 2005, after a French girl chose to enter the pits without checking her inside mirror! The accident proves the strength of the Fun Cup cars (and the cost of repair was substantially less than a small knock on a 355!).
Team-mate for 2008 is another ex-Alfa Romeo racer, Bryn Griffiths, whose colleagues at his West Sussex workshops - Alfa specialist Monza Sports Tuning together with Paul Austin of Crawley's TVR specialist Austec Racing, are also giving technical support to the team. Bryn drove with Ted for some of the 2007 events and is now committed to the full season. Bryn has finally let go of his Alfa Sportwagon diesel race car ...
For 2008, the team is supported by Landspeed and Monza Sports Tuning.
